Adams – Zuehlke wedding
Brittney Lea Adams and Steven Charles Zuehlke were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony April 9, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, Texas, with the Rev. James Mann officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Phyllis and Clint Adams of Hebbronville and granddaughter of Charlotte Vanderstrucken and the late Duane Crews, and Corene and Layton Adams, all of Beeville. She is a graduate of Texas State University and is employed by Union State Bank in Round Rock as a credit analyst.
The groom is the son of Ann and Floyd Zuehlke, Jr. of Thorndale, and grandson of Les and the late Barbara Goerdel of Thorndale, and Floyd and the late Joy Zuehlke of Taylor. He is the great-grandson of Inez Goerdel of Hamilton and Juanita Chittum of Pearland. He is a graduate of Texas State University and is employed by Floyd’s Glass Company in Taylor as a project manager.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a Maggie Sottero ambrosia gown made of alabaster soft shimmer satin, with a dipped neckline and corset closure. The dress was embellished with crystals and pearls at the strapless neckline as well as across an inset lace panel in the skirt, and featured a bustled train, which was punctuated with handmade satin flowers. Her fingertip veil, edged in crystal beadwork, was held in place with a tiara of crystals and pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of pink stargazer lillies, tangerine roses, and baby’s breath, intertwined with crystals.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Brooke Adams. Bridemaids were friends of the bride, Bianca Barrera, Lyndsay New, Desiree Ramirez, Jenna Shepherd, Jordie Shepherd, Alecia Wagner, and Mandy Becker, cousin of the bride. The attendants were dressed in full-length satin gowns in Tiffany blue, with a narrow ribbon bow marked with a rhinestone pin at the rouched empire waist. They wore matching rhinestone drop earrings and necklaces, a gift from the bride. They carried bouquets of pink and tangerine roses and gerbera daisies.
Flower girl was Brighton Adams, niece of the bride. She was dressed in a candlelight satin gown to match the bride and carried an ivory and pearl basket of pink rose petals.
Best man was the groom’s brother, Kevin Zuehlke. Groomsmen were friends of the groom, Ryan Davenport, Matthew Galbreath, Rev. John Pflug, Jr., Taylor Rowe, Coy Schneider, Justin Schwarz and Aubrey White. They wore black tuxedos with coordinating Tiffany blue vest and tie. Ushers were friends of the groom, Jared Melde, J.J. Murray, Carter Travis, and Cleighton Jerkins, cousin of the bride. They wore black tuxedos with black vest and tie. Ring bearer was Lane Jerkins, cousin of the bride. His black tuxedo and platinum vest and tie matched the groom.
Reader of the scriptures was Rev. John Pflug, Jr. Organist was Ada Sweet and soloist was Carrie de Lemos.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the New Braunfels Civic Center ballroom. The walls were draped with ivory fabric and swags of white lights and crystals met at a chandelier in the center of the ceiling. Tables were laid with ivory satin cloths with Tiffany blue runners. Centerpieces were bouquets of stargazer lillies, orange tiger lillies, pink and tangerine roses, gerbera daisies, stock, orange gladiola, greenery and crystals, captured in tall chandelier candelabras. The same flowers were appointed at the registration table and gathered at clusters of uplit, free-standing pillars in the entry as well as in the cocktail area where photos of the bride and groom were displayed.
The bride’s cake was a vanilla five-layer confection set upon a crystal pedestal with a rhinestone “z” atop, decorated with buttercream quilting, crystals, satin ribbon and roses.
The groom’s chocolate cake was a medallion of a bobcat, his Texas State University mascot. Guests enjoyed a photo booth and dancing, with a grand march led by DJ Danny Hernandez and his wife, Brenda.
Assisting with houseparty duties were Amy, Jill and Lisa Conoley, Danielle Hernandez, Margaret Miller and Christine Rohlack, all friends of the couple.
After a honeymoon on the island of St. Lucia, the couple resides in Thorndale.
